Join us for an evening of creativity and art-making with artist Risa Iwasaki Culbertson. Mingle with fellow artists and members for an evening of art-marking inspired by exhibitions on view at the museum. Tickets are free for members and a guest. Risa Iwasaki Culbertson is a multidisciplinary artist based in San Francisco with a focus on fiber arts, illustrating, and storytelling. Biracial and born in Japan, she grew up creating art as a way to bridge the gap between her two worlds. Inspired by the healing and connective power of humor and play, she creates her wacky, whimsical, and colorful work as a way to process deep emotions in grief and joy while creating places of belonging and staying connected to those we love.
Buses can pick up and drop off students in front of the museum on Larkin Street or on the north side of the building on Fulton Street. The Asian Art Museum does not have a parking facility, but there are several parking facilities within walking distance.
