In conjunction with the de Saisset’s exhibitions, SCU faculty from diverse disciplines and guest artists are invited to discuss contemporary projects on view from their specific disciplinary perspective. Faculty & Artists will lead viewers on a tour of the exhibition interpreting and highlighting objects that resonate with their own research interests. These walkthroughs are informal and conversational, and are offered to the campus community and wider audiences for free. This series is co-presented by SCU’s de Saisset Museum and Center for the Arts & Humanities. On Wednesday, November 11 from 12-12:45 p.m. join Pilar Agüero-Esparza , guest artist, for a tour of The Four (Revisited) at the de Saisset Museum. Agüero-Esparza’s research interests include color and social hierarchies, the cultural significance of the handmade, and the intersection of painting and weaving. Her work situates questions of ancestry and identity within form and context to open dialogue around race, equity, and empathy.
