The National Museum of African American Music Presents Gallery Albertine The Redemption of A Delta Bluesman Exhibit Opening & Gallery Talk The Redemption of a Delta Bluesman Thursday, November 5, 2026 | 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM Join the National Museum of African American Music for the opening of The Redemption of a Delta Bluesman, a powerful exhibition exploring the life, legacy, and untold story of blues legend Robert Johnson. Through 38 works of art, the exhibition looks beyond the famous crossroads legend to honor Johnson’s lived experiences, musical contributions, and journey through the Mississippi Delta during a pivotal time in American history. Presented in collaboration with Memphis-based Gallery Albertine, this exhibition marks the gallery’s first partnership with NMAAM and celebrates the importance of preserving Black history through art, music, and storytelling. The opening will feature a presentation of From Nothing 2 Something, followed by an engaging gallery discussion with Andre Miller — artist, retired educator, and director of Gallery Albertine, who developed the exhibition. Join us for an evening of art, history, and conversation as we revisit the legacy of one of the most influential figures in blues music and explore the stories beyond the legend.
