Performing Live: Peter Angelo With: Wonder Dave Picture this: a gay metalhead truck driver walks into a comedy club. It sounds like the setup to a joke, but it actually perfectly describes our headliner -- Peter "Metal Pete" Angelo. Peter is a stand-up comedian based in Austin, Texas, who traded a career in truck driving for the stage. For eight years, he toured the country in an 18-wheeler, presumably blasting Death Metal while navigating both America's highways and his own journey of self-discovery. Coming out of the closet is hard enough without having to do it at truck stops from coast to coast. Peter's comedy breaks every stereotype you can think of, proving you can't judge a book by its cover, especially when that cover features leather jackets, muscles, and an inexplicable knowledge of both diesel engines and show tunes. Wonder Dave is a comedian, writer and performer from Minneapolis, MN, living in California. He hosts and produces Safe Words Showcase - Queer Sex Positive Comedy and SMILF - Straight Men I'd Like to Friend with producer Jonah Price, hosts Hysteria: Open Mic for Women and Queers, hosts and produces Mental Health Comedy Hour with comedian Kristee Ono, and Co-Hosts Ruckus and Rumpus Revival with Jamie DeWolf. comedy. 6pm - 8pm. 21+ with ID. $19 limited advance; $27 after; $37 door.
